In the street of life, walking in the darkness of the shadows, the Devil was hunting with his dogs, the imps of human weakness. A man came down the street and the Devil said to one imp, "Go get him for me!"
Lightly, the imp hopped onto the man's shoulder. "You are discouraged," he whispered.
"No," said the man, "I am not discouraged."
"You ARE discouraged!"
This time the man replied, "I do not think I am."
The imp repeated, "I tell you, you are discouraged."
The man dropped his head and murmured, "Well, I suppose I am."
"I've got him, he's discouraged," the imp reported back to the Devil. Another man passed. Again Devil said, "Get him!"
The demon of discouragement repeated his tactics. The first time he said, "You are discouraged," the man replied emphatically, "No!"
The second time the man replied, "I tell you I am Not discouraged!"
The third time he said, "You lie! I am Not discouraged!"
The imp returned to the Devil, crestfallen, "I couldn't get him," he reported. "Three times I told him he was discouraged. The third time, he called me a liar, and that discouraged ME!"
Don't forget the Devil is the Father of all liars...
Thanks Pattie for the story..
The Devil wants to destroy your hope and you!!
Satan is a liar and the Father of all liars. Jesus told us that in John 8:44! Satan does his best to discourage us. He sends forth his minions to do his will around the world. What is the Devil's will? It is his will to destroy people. Jesus made that clear in John 10:10, "The thief (Satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.."
The best way to hurt someone, to destroy them, is to discourage them. The devil sends forth his imps to discourage and to steal your hope. He wants to convince you that there is no way out, that your cause is hopeless, that you may as well, give up and die. The Devil does it to everybody. Listen this is important, he does it to Christians, too!
Don't let the devil, the world, people get you down. You can win at life. If you are a Christian, you should win at life. You have no cause to get discourage. You have the Living God on your side. Through Christ, you have triumphed over the enemy and over life. Paul says it well, in Philippians 4:13, "You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you!"
So tell that discourager, the old persuader, "No.. You are liar." Remember, All he can do is lie. When he says that you have no chance, that you will fail, that you will lose! You can know that it is a lie. You can know that You will succeed, that You will win.
You can say, "No.. You liar.. I am not discouraged. I am encouraged by your attack of lies.. You have reminded me of the truth! I will win!" |
