I was reading "Dear Abby" today. A young lady had written a letter about her high school days. She said she had been a shy young lady. One day in class she was required to read a portion of their textbook. She said a young man spoke out in the class and said, "You should speak more often.. you have a very nice voice."

The writer of the letter said this little compliment had a dramatic effect on her life. She felt better about herself. She opened up more around others. She said that even today when she thinks about what that young man said.. she feels good. It is amazing the impact that a simple compliment has on this young lady's life. A simple little word of encouragement can make a world of difference.

". . . Encourage one another and build each other up . . ." (1 Thess 5:11)

This is the day when you can make a difference. It won't cost you any money, it doesn't even require a lot of time. What it takes is the willingness to take the time to give a simple compliment.. a little word of encouragement. We need to look for the opportunity to say.. "Good job."

Everyone needs and enjoys a word of encouragment. Today, when you go out into the world, look for someone you can encourage, look for the opportunity to say, "You are going a great job. Thanks for the extra effort. You are a pretty special person."
