A young man was traveling in the Far East when he came across a shop in the market place. In this shop they made and sold beautiful oriental tapestries. As he walked around the shop he heard a shout. He turned and saw a man standing in the back of the shop shouting at a loom . As he yelled out instructions, threads appeared in the tapestry almost as if by magic. The young man asked the shop owner for an explanation.

"The man you see," said the merchant, "is a master weaver. He is speaking to his apprentice behind the loom telling him what color thread to use and where to put it. Only the weaver knows the entire design, so it is necessary that the apprentice do exactly as the master commands."

"Does the apprentice ever make a mistake?" asked the young man.

"Oh yes, of course, but the weaver is a very kind man. When the boy makes a mistake he will rarely have him take out the thread. Instead, being the great master artist, he simply works the mistake into the design."

Isn't That Like The Lord..

That is the way life is.. It is a great tapestry that God is weaving on the loom of creation. He has this design, this plan for each of our lives. There are times, we can't see the pattern of the tapestry God is weaving. We are on the other side of the loom looking at the knotted threads that are placed seemingly without purpose.

We find ourselves in the hard places of life. Sometimes, it seems like circumstances, the world, the enemy of our soul and at times, even our own will have brought us to place of utter defeat and despair. There doesn't seem to be anyway out and we can't see how any good can come from the situation.

Then God steps in and He begins to work the mistake, the error, the tragedy into His wonderful master design for our life. He begins to change the results from despair and horror to a blessing. You see, He is that kind of God. A God who can bring good from the worst of all circumstances.

We have a promise.. You will find it in Romans 8:38, "But we know that all things work together for Good to those that love God and are called according to his purpose.

Let God do His special work of repair and correction and don't get discouraged or downcast. Let God continue to bring out the best in your life and rejoice in His goodness and mercy because He loves you and wants you to have the best possible life you can have in this world.

Our Prayer..

Lord, our prayer today, is take our lives in Your glorious hands. Take both the glory and the tragedy and make it a life that shows forth the glory of God. Don't let us fear or worry but help us to know Your great love and to rest in the certain knowledge that you are working in our behalf.

Help us, O Lord, to both listen and obey your directions for our lives that we might be the people you have called us to be.
