Love Looks for Hurting People

A Mother's Table Of Love..

Bob Hutchins' mother was a good Christian woman. She loved people and she had a heart that always saw the best in others. Bob would talk about coming home for lunch or dinner and he would never know who was going to be sitting at his mother's table.

One day, when he was just a boy he found himself sharing lunch with an old tramp, named Max. Bob's mother had gone shopping, met the tramp along the way, and invited him home for a warm meal. During a lull in the conversation Max said, "I wish there were more people like you in the world."

Bob's mother said, "Oh, there are, but you just have to look for them."

The old man simply shook his head, saying. "Mother Hutchins, I didn't need to look for you. You looked for me."

God Looks For Hurting People..

This wonderful little mother of the Church was an example of the love of Christ. She had a heart that sought out hurting people. She went out of her way to find and to love unlovable people. It didn't matter who you were or what your circumstances were. If Mother Hutchins found you then she was going to love you.

Let me tell you, that is the story of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He came looking for the sick, the maimed, the bruised, the broken, the poor and the forgotten. He came looking for people just like us. The wonderful truth is that God loves the unlovable. He loves me and He loves you!

One day they were asking Jesus what is God like. Jesus told them a story. Jesus told a story about a sheepherder who lost one of his sheep. He spoke of one mangy, little lamb that had wandered away and was lost. He was just one sheep out of many sheep.  Yet the shepherd went searching for the little lost lamb. Jesus said that is the way God is. He goes looking for the lost. He searches for the one who has lost his way. He searches and searches until he finds the lost and then God does His best to restore the lost to family of God. That is the way God is.. He is looking for lost and hurting people.

Has God found you? Has the Lord of Glory, the searching God, the God of the lost and the hurting found you? Think not? He really has, right this minute, God has His hand on you and He is saying, "Come home to the family." How will you answer? Tell God, "Yes, I want to come home." Tell God, "Yes, I want to change and I want Jesus Christ to help me begin again." As soon as you do, God will touch your heart and life and you will be changed! It is that easy.

The Bible is clear, Roman 10:13, "He that calls on the Lord will be saved!"  Now that you have called on Him and now that God has touched you, call someone and tell them what you have done.  If you don't have someone close to call.. E-mail us and we will rejoice with you.  We will send you some material to help you grow in Christ.  We will help you find a Church (a family of believers that will make you part of their family)and we will pray for you.  Yes it is really that simple.
