If you would have seen him walking down the streets of Portsmouth, England, you would have not have guessed he was much of seaman.  He could barely walk a straight line, this one armed, one eyed sailor.  If being crippled wasn't enough, he had one major drawback that would have stopped most men from venturing out on the sea in sailing ships, he got deathly sea-sick. He had one other little problem, too, he had tremors in his hands from a case of nerves.

You would think that this man could hardly instill courage in those who followed him.  Yet, he was England's greatest Admiral, Lord Nelson.  Nelson with all his frailties, had a dimension that set him above all others. He had the "Spirit of Lion."  There was no battle, no war, no obstacle that could not be overcome.  Nelson knew this truth.. he said it often.. "Never give up."  When the battle seemed to turn against him, when he was out numbered or out gunned, he had this one truth to fall back on.. never give up.  When others would turn to run away, he fought on, and he would win.

There Is A Lesson To Be Learned.

You may be facing some tough battles, the world may seem like it is crashing in on you and there may seem like there is no way out. Listen to me. Don't give up. There is always another way. There is a victory for those who refuse to give up or quit. As a Christian, we have a promise, that we will not fail.. If we don’t give up. We may lose a few battles in life but,.. Hear this.. The course is decided.. We shall win!

Don't give up.  Press on.  Don't give up.  Stand in there!  Don't give up because the living God is there to help you and He will strengthen you and see you through the battles, the struggles and the hard places of life.  I have a word for you.  You can make it!  You can make because the Lord has said you will not face an obstacle or a trial that God has not prepared for or made a way for you.   Read it in First Corinthians 10:13.  So don't give up! Press on and win the victories of life.
