Levi Looks for the perfect lamb..
"There is one without spot or mar..
One day I will find him..
I will seek him in the fields.. in the hills.."
Ever looking near and far
Working the fields of the temple priests..
Tending the morrow's sweet sacrifice..
Levi worked as if for God, Himself
Searching here.. looking there..
Checking once, then twice..
Telling the other herders of his goal..
To find that lamb, "God's perfect sacrifice.."
The old men nod and smile..
the young men laugh out loud..
Levi says, "Nearly perfect won't suffice..."
Then in the midst of winter's cold night..
A midnight so clear you could touch the stars..
Came a sweet singing..
Angelic beings..voices ringing..
"Come see the King.."
The herders, smelling of fields, press close..
Eyes fixed on the infant nestled in the sheepfold..
This Child a King? A Savior? The Promised One?
If a King, where are the jewels?
The royal robes? The precious Gold?
Then came the sobs.. Crying from the back..
Turning they see Levi, tears flowing down his cheeks...
"Oh Lord, how blessed I am..
My quest is finished..
I have found God's perfect lamb.."
